Born John Ernest Crawford in Los Angeles into a theatrical and musical family – his paternal grandfather worked for Irving Berlin – Crawford was only six when his Sunday school teacher, who was also an agent, began finding work for the talented child. Sad to hear of Johnny Crawford’s death at age 75. I grew up watching him in “The Rifleman”. I still occasionally stream an episode of that show.
I love the tender father-son interaction as well as how good always triumphs over evil, thanks to Lucas McCain & his amazing gun.
