Robert Lesslie Obituary – death:  In the loving memory of Robert Lesslie and His wife Adah Lesslie, we are saddened to inform you that Dr. Robert Lesslie, a beloved and loyal friend, has passed away at 70.

A unique soul with a great personality has an amazing sense of humor, diligent and caring.

He always brought light to every room entered. And will be dearly missed by family, friends, and everyone.

Our beloved Robert Lesslie, his wife, Barbara Lesslie 69, together with two of their beloved grandchildren ( Adah and Noah, who are 9 and 5 years old respectively) have tragically passed away unexpectedly after been shot in their home, on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Robert Lesslie’s obituary is not public at the time, we will share more as we learn about the obituary and possibly the funeral.

I normally dont post about things like this but my heart is heavy. I am sending prayers out to Dr Robert Leslie family- the owner of Riverview Medical Center. He, his wife and 2 grandchildren were shot and killed in their home along with a house worker on yesterday, April 7, 2021.

I worked for this doctor at Riverview Medical for several years, he was my boss man. A true down to earth, sweet, kind, caring man, he would give his last if he had to! He always kept the staff laughing and entertained- had a great personality.

This really bothered me after hearing this news. I last saw Dr Leslie at Lowe’s on last year 2020 while ordering paint. He walked up to me and said, “Soni is that you?” I laughed and said, “yes Dr Leslie it is me.” Than he asked, “what are you doing now at days?” I answered, “I run my own business designing and decorating homes and offices.”

He smiled and said, “you always been a go getter. I am proud of you. I may need you to come out to my home, would you do that?” I said, “sure Dr Leslie here is my business card, call me when you and Barbara are ready.”

Today, Majority Leader Gary Simrill, and the members of the Rock Hill delegation, asked the SC House to pray for the Leslie family from Rock Hill. Yesterday, a lone gunman shot and killed Dr. Robert Leslie; his wife, Barbara; and their two grandchildren at the Leslie home.

Also, a HVAC technician who was working on site was killed, and another shot. The Leslie family is loved far and wide by the community, Rock Hill ARP Church, and the medical professionals he has worked with over the years. The family had a deep and abiding faith in Christ. However, their son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Katie, lost their parents and only two children in the blink of an eye.

As well, there is a larger family grieving, the Camp Joy family. Camp Joy is a special needs summer camp started at Bonclarken over 40 years ago. If you have ever spent a week working at Camp Joy, you realize what the love of Christ is all about, unconditional given to you by special friends.

The Leslies were a major part of the Camp Joy family, and Jeffrey and Katie were engaged in the chapel during Camp Joy. To say hearts are crushed would be a gross understatement.

Robert, Barbara, and the two grandchildren are in the presence of eternal peace and rest. However, Jeffrey and Katie, lost a father, mother, and their only two children. I am so numb that I have no idea what to ask for but prayer for Jeffrey, Katie, and the many friends who loved them dearly.

#BREAKING: Robert Shook, the sole survivor in a York County mass shooting, is in stable condition. His family says the bleeding has stopped.

“We can’t believe it,” his cousin Heather Thompson just told me over the phone. “Rob was shot six times.

His condition is still touch-and-go. But we have lots more hope than this time last night. We still need prayers. Please, keep praying for Rob, for his wife Holly, and his three kids. He is stable. We can’t believe it. He is stable.”

The five other people shot by one gunman, a former NFL player, all died. Here’s what else we have confirmed:

– James Lewis, 38, was the other service worker killed.

– He was a father. Had three children.

– He lived in Gaston County.

– We talked with his mother tonight, off-camera.

– She shared some photos we’ll show at 11pm.

– James and Robert were outside when the gunman approached.

– They were finishing up their job, working on the A/C unit.

– They were there, just doing their jobs.

– They were shot first.

– James died on the scene.

– Robert was shot six times, but was able to call his boss.

– He called his boss, because he didn’t know the address.

– His boss then called 911.

– The strength Rob had to make that call, might have saved his life.

– The gunman then went inside the home.

– Deputies say he killed Dr. Robert Lesslie and his wife Barbara.

– They say he also killed their two grandchildren.

– 9-year-old Ada, and 5-year-old Noah.

– This was an upstanding family and prominent local doctor.

– He’d practiced in Rock Hill for 40 years.

– Deputies identified the gunman as Phillip Adams.

– Former NFL player.

– His family is in Rock Hill.

– Deputies say he had two firearms on him.

– They found him Wednesday night in a nearby home.

– He was dead, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.

– Congressman Ralph Norman says Adams was Dr. Lesslie’s patient.

– Important to note, York Co Sheriff Kevin Tolson says he and his deputies have NO evidence of any patient-doctor relationship.

– He said they are still investigating that angle.

– Tonight at 11p, we are looking into motive.

– Why?

– James and Rob worked at GSM Services in Gastonia.

– Tonight, the company released a statement.

– “Both men involved in this incident are long-standing, beloved members of our family at GSM. These men embody the values we strive to achieve at GSM and are family focused, up-beat, and wonderful team members who cared about all the people they encountered. In the coming days, our focus is on helping these families and our team members cope with this tragedy.”

I am in touch with Robert Shook’s family and his family says they’ll let us know if anything changes with his condition. They are very thankful for the community support.

Also tonight, I’m trying to compile more on Dr. Robert Lesslie. He, as the Sheriff said today, was “a pillar of the community” with deep respect in many directions.
