Our beloved Ashley Nicole Mitchell, an Oldham County woman’s body was found this week on the Ohio River shoreline in Owensboro, according to authorities in Western Kentucky.

On January 11, 2021, the family of Ashley Nicole Mitchell, age 31, reported her to the LaGrange Police Department as a Missing Person.

Ms. Mitchell’s family last had contact with her in mid-December of 2020 and her last known address was in LaGrange, Kentucky

Ashley Nicole Mitchell’s obituary is not public at the time, we will share more as we learn about the obituary and possibly the funeral.

Missing Person & Death Investigation
On January 11, 2021, the family of Ashley Nicole Mitchell, age 31, reported her to the LaGrange Police Department as a Missing Person. Ms. Mitchell’s family last had contact with her in mid-December of 2020 and her last known address was in LaGrange, Kentucky.

As the investigation has continued to locate Ms. Mitchell, it was learned that she had vacated her residence with no forwarding address information. Ms. Mitchell was reported to have distinctive physical characteristics including the amputation of her left leg below the knee and several unique tattoos.

On April 1, 2021, the LaGrange Police Department learned that a body of a female was found in the Ohio River in Owensboro, Kentucky. The LaGrange Police Department provided information to the Owensboro Police Department related to the Missing Person report and the body was preliminarily identified as Ms. Mitchell by the Daviess County Coroner’s Office.

The manner and cause of death are undetermined at this time and are pending autopsy and test results.

The investigation is ongoing and no additional information will be released at this time.
