Absolutely heartbroken and devastated to report that my dear friend Bishop Omar Jahwar lost his long and arduous battle with COVID this morning.

To one who loved so deeply and was loved even more deeply in return, collective hearts around the country are grieving this unimaginable and astounding loss.

I cannot begin to describe the hole this leaves in my heart and in my life. I will miss his joyful laugh, his soulful voice and swagger, and his heartfelt encouragement. He was my sounding board and mentor.

My path became clear and focused because of him. I am forever changed and grateful for his love and support. I pray for his wonderful family and loved ones and the thousands of people who he impacted through his life and work. 💔

This hurts my soul but I know my Bishop is now resting in the house of the Lord. Thank you Bishop Omar Jahwar for your abundance of love, mentoring, friendship and spiritual guidance.

I love you man and I’m so hurt right now but I receive the words from our last conversation. Like you always say, “GOD is always up to SOMETHING!” I love you brother.
