The last two days have been so long, so dreadful, and so heavy on my heart and mind. I don’t really know what to say, to think, or to do. To be 21, so close to 22, there is so much that Olivia Perry experienced that some people may never know in their entire life time. Olivia was so full of love and light but had demons to fight that were stronger than I could have ever known. I thought I would be able to see the signs if someone in my life was ever drowning like this again, but I learned it’s not always possible
I’ve researched all day looking for an answer that I want so badly to know. I’ve talked to everyone I love trying to find an answer, but there is none
This illness is real, suicide is the second leading cause of death in the ages 15-24
“The reasons that people take their lives are not always clear, but having open conversations about suicide can help alleviate a person’s pain.”
I have to talk about this, talk to my friends and family, extend a helping hand, an ear to listen. I am here, I have time
I encourage you to talk to your people, these conversations are hard, but it has to be normalized. Mental health awareness is so incredibly important and there are so many resources that are available today
Olivia had a big impact on my life, she helped me through the hardest time of my life nearly 4 years ago. I honestly do not know what I would’ve done without her support, and I wish I could have returned the favor when she needed it.

RIP to Olivia Perry. We weren’t very close, but my strongest memory of her was the last day of my senior year. She was probably 9 years old and was preparing to audition for Annie. The Bell rang for the end of my high school career and All the theatre kids came to the Choir hall to clear out lockers. All we could hear was Olivia singing , “ The sun will come out tomorrow”. And we all cried on command. I know she will be missed. Sending love to the Shoals theatre community as well as Amanda Whitfield Perry and her family and Friends 💜💜💜
Olivia Perry was such a sweet and kind person. She made middle school band so much more fun. Rest In Peace sweet soul🤍 My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
