I got my 1st vaccine dose today and I didn’t think much of it at first (before actual shot), just thought “Ok, I’m getting it over with”, but as we drove away, I was filled with emotion and fighting back tears.
I thought about my best friend, Paula Jones. I wish she had beaten covid and we had our stories of getting the C19 vaccine shots to share with each other.
I also thought about all those who have been affected by this virus. I’m thankful and grateful that my extended family and friends were fortunate and blessed to have beaten covid. It’s just a good day to feel hopeful.
As I sat with my BiL for the 15 min waiting period after the shot, one of the doctors came over and chit chatted with us. It was awesome to hear him say that for the first time in a long time there are more non-covid patients than covid patients at TIMC.
We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. While it may still be dim, we see it shine brighter as each day passes. Covid hit hard, but we will overcome and persevere.
Please continue to mask up, sanitize & wash your hands frequently throughout the day, wipe down frequently touched areas of home, car, office. And lastly, social distance.
