It is with unbearable sadness and shattered hearts that I am posting this – our beautiful daughter Vanessa Musacchio – a kind, gentle, humble, compassionate, and pure soul passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday. We were honoured and privileged to have had her in our lives – full of life and with a bright future ahead of her.

Vanessa had a vision and was determined to make a change in this world for the younger generation – Vanessa was a rock for her mother, learned so much from her father, and was inseparable from her sister. Always laughing and filling our home with her warmth and love for her family.

Born on October 13th, 1994, on a beautiful sunny day at Saint Mary’s hospital in Montreal, she grew up in Cote Saint Luc. She attended Merton Elementary School and went on to Royal West Academy High School – She continued her studies at Dawson College and McGill University and graduated from Political Science.

Vanessa lived her life to the fullest – from her laughter to her music to her constant knowledge and discussions on current and past world events – always wanting to give a helping hand – from buying the homeless food to calling 7 women’s shelters asking what they needed for the upcoming cold winter months, and going out to buy warm clothing and delivering the items – without ever needing recognition for her actions.

Her love of reading and writing filled her with knowledge. She always looked and analyzed life from a different perspective and taught us to look at things in a different way to better understand what was going on in the world. Vanessa was larger than life – she went from zero to 100 and there was nothing in-between. She always put her heart and soul in everything that she did – she didn’t accept the chaos in the world – from finding a small package lost in the mail, to helping families get home to their loved ones, to building snow dams with her sister in front of our neighbours driveways to prevent water from going into their homes after a water main break on our street on a frigid night this past winter.

She embraced life to the fullest – from music to dining to travel and most importantly her family and her friends who have shown us such compassion and love during this tragedy – Vanessa’s love and compassion was also shared with our little dog Rapini who she loved and adored.

Vanessa also was surrounded by her cousins, Aunts and Uncles in Montreal and the US who loved and adored her. She would always look forward to Thanksgiving and her Birthday week so that she could spend time with her family and friends. Her Beautiful Nanny meant the world to her; their Thursday lunches together brought immense joy to the both of them. Her Nonna Vittoria taught her how to bake the most amazing chocolate chip cookies.

She grew up surrounded by her cousins, always aspiring to be just like them; her favourite summer days were spent by the pool with them. She had nothing but love for all of them and words cannot express how grateful she would be for all they’ve been doing for us these past few days. Vanessa would look forward spending afternoons with her aunts and uncles, hearing about stories from their childhoods and dancing with them in the kitchen after dinner.

Vanessa was born to be a people person and always wanted to serve. She worked at Molisana Bakery on Somerled avenue in NDG and David’s Tea on Monkland Avenue – always serving her customers with a warm smile. Her journey in life then brought her to Air Canada customer service where she helped families sort out travel issues – some calls were easier than others – some calls required Vanessa’s compassion and gentleness to help the families in need of a safe journey home to be with their loved ones – the journey continued to Ardene where she worked in Customer Service also helping customers with their orders – dealing with late package deliveries or lost orders among other things which were really out of control – always handling each call with her gentleness, kindness, compassion and professionalism regardless if the inquiry was about a few dollars or a few hundred dollars. In just over a year, she was hand picked by the CEO of Ardene and was given a position in Marketing due to her intense drive – The company saw the sparkle in Vanessa’s eyes and kindness in her soul and wanted to help her succeed.

The CEO himself saw how she would be able to help the company grow and share her vision with them. This was an unbelievable opportunity that was given to her and Vanessa was to grateful.

This is just a brief history of our beautiful Vanessa who was adored by her parents Antoinette and Michael, her sister Victoria and her boyfriend Hamed who is heartbroken. Hamed is a wonderful young man who was able to embrace Vanessa and surround her with his love, kindness and warmth and positive energy – they were truly made for each other and we are so happy that they were able to spend the past couple of years together.

The amount of people that have showed their support shows how many lives our Vanessa has touched. If you were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with our daughter at some point, my hope is that she has left a positive mark with you, and that the sparkle in her eyes, her energy, wisdom, laughter, and compassion will remain in your hearts forever – Poppa loves you ❤

Though our words can do little, we hope our thoughts and prayers will encourage you this period and always as you mourn, the passing soul.

May you find comfort knowing that life continues forever in heaven even as the memories shared live forever in our hearts.

Our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers are with the family and friends.

We encourage you all to respect the dead and accord the family heartbroken with the loss of a cherished one, some privacy as you leave a message in the comment session.
