Here are Heartfelt messages from people on social media:

Remembering the passing of a friend and legend in Cape Cod Radio… Don McKeag passed away last night. He spent many years co-hosting the morning show with Ed Lambert on WXTK and then had his own Saturday show for many years. I was honored to be part of Don and Ed’s show as their news anchor for several years and had some of the best times in radio with them. Before joining the morning show, he co-hosted the afternoon show. Don always spoke from the heart…he was genuine…whether you agreed with his opinions or not. He enjoyed life and was always up for a good prank — including lighting my news copy on fire one morning as I was reading it! Don was also one of the most successful restaurant operators on Cape Cod, running the old Asa Bearse and The Flying Bridge to name a couple. God bless you Don… Many of us will miss hearing “kindness cookie” among your more famous sayings…
